Peter Arnoldy Claimed at 74
Peter Joseph Arnoldy, one of the three brothers who came to California from Kansas 50 years ago and have been residents of the community since, died in the Rideout Hospital this morning, 10 months after the death of his wife, Nora. Arnoldy was a native of Minnesota, aged 74 years and for a long time was an orchardist in Sutter county. Since the death of his wife he had been living with his daughter, Mrs. L. C. Purcell, 731 Eighth Street, Marysville. He was a member of Marysville Council of Knights of Columbus and was a 50-years member of Court Pride of Marysville. Foresters of America, and was active in both orders through the years. Services Thursday
He was the father of Elmer Arnoldy and Mrs. Purcell of Marysville and Lloyd E. Purcell of San Diego. The latter en route to Marysville today, on receipt of a message telling of his father's death. He also leaves 10 grandchildren. The surviving brothers and sisters are Matt and Joseph Arnoldy with whom he came west 50 years ago and William Arnoldy of Chico. Mrs. N. Boden of Kansas and Sister Cleophas in a Kansas convent. The body will lie in state at the Purcell home from 11 a. m. Wednesday until the hour of the funeral services in St. Joseph's Church Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Sierra View Memorial park. Rosary service will be at the Purcell home at 8 p. m. Wednesday
