"MRS. THOMAS P. MCDERMOTT — Katherine Haskell McDermott, a former Charleston resident and widow of Thomas Patrick McDermott, died Saturday in Shelton, Conn. The funeral will be Tuesday in Shelton, according to McAlister's. Burial, directed by Riverview Funeral Home of Shelton, will be in Lawn Cemetery, Shelton. Mrs. McDermott was born Jan. 30, 1901, in Charleston, a daughter of James Heyward Haskell and Harriet Perry Haskell. She graduated from Crafts School, Ashley Hall, and Confederate College, all in Charleston. Surviving are a daughter, Katherine McDermott Baldwin, of Shelton; a sister, Mrs. James Lemons, of Charleston; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren."
