Mrs. Don Garber Dies Thursday
Popular Young Woman is Taken Following Long Illness
Mrs. Donald L. Garber, who has been ill for several months and in serious condition much of that time, died at about 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home on Wachtel avenue. Mrs. Garber had somewhat recovered from a relapse of some weeks ago and was thought to be recovering when she suffered another relapse early in the week and on Monday her condition became critical.
Mrs. Garber spent most of her life in Petoskey, being prominent in social circles and in church work in this city and region and enjoyed a large circle of close friends. She was a member of and worker in the First Christian church and Sunday school and in the various church groups and societies, a member of the choir, the orchestra and a teacher for many years.
Born in Paris, Ontario, September 7, 1883, Mrs. Garber spent some years there, then came to this region with her parents. She was married to Donald Garber in Petoskey, September 28, 1924, by Rev. A. M. Hootman. Besides the husband and her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Adams, she leaves one brother, William Adams, all of Petoskey.
Rev. Mr. Hootman and Rev. J. N. Booth, the latter pastor of the First Christian church, will conduct the funeral service at the church at 2:330 o'clock Monday afternoon. Burial is to be in Greenwood.
