BUCKNER Harry M. Buckner, 88 years and 6 months, passed away Monday, December 1, 2003 at Doctors Hospital West. Born May 31, 1915 in West Virginia, the son of the late William Harry and Ora Bernice Buckner. Retired Captain of Columbus Police Department after 33 years service. 50 year member Sunrise Masonic Lodge #783, member Scottish Rite #12 and FOP #9. Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars and building projects around the house. Survived by wife of 68 years, Gloria Hodgson Buckner; son, Robert (Mickey Sue) Buckner; daughter, Patricia (Robert Limberg) Buckner; granddaughter, Lauren (Douglas) Marchand; great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Jacob and Hannah Marchand; and sister, Grace Case. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 4, at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St., with Pastor Lowell Headley officiating. Interment Sunset Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where FOP Services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Retired Police Officers Assoc., P.O. Box 146, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068.
