William M. (Bill) Scott -

William M. (Bill) Scott, 84, 729 S. Eddy, died about 8:50 p.m. Wednesday, Oct 17, at Mercy Hospital. He was born March 19, 1895, at Fort Scott, the son of Robert E. and Lillie Dunaway Scott. He married Mary Frances Buchanan, Sept 22, 1922, at Erie. Mr. Scott served with the Kansas Highway Patrol for 11 years, retiring in 1950. He was then employed by the Kansas Weight Enforcement Department, retiring in 1967. He was a veteran of World War I and had served with Company G of the 137th Infantry. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Rising Sun Lodge No. 8, AF&AM, and the Fort Scott Scottish Rite Bodies.

Surviving are the wife of the Country View Nursing Home in Prescott; three sons Bill Scott of Kansas City, Kan., Jack Scott of Burlington, Kan., and Glenn Scott of Buena Vista, Colo; three brothers Robert L. Scott of Roswell N. M., Dr. Glenn R. Scott of Amarillo, Texas, and Herbert Scott of La Mesa, Calif.; two sisters: Mrs. Hazel Meeker of Erie and Mrs. Mary Patterson of San Diego, Calif., seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Earl's Memorial Home with the Rev. Gordon I. Zimmerman officiating.

Burial will be in National Cemetery. Masonic services will be conducted at the cemetery.
