She was a daughter of John Edward "Edd" Brown and Lou Florence (Hynes) Brown.

She graduated from Meade County High School in 1918, one of a class of two, the other graduate being James Willie Bondurant.

She married Earl Graham on September 22, 1927, who preceded her in death in 1972. Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Tom Brown, John Brown and Dick Brown; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Withers.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Rubye Earle) Hennessy of New York City, New York, and Dr. Nettie Lou King of Louisville; one sister, Mrs. Willy Frank Smith of Louisville
