SNAVELY – Ethel Florence, Dover, Del., died Thursday March 27, 2008 at Westminster Village Healthcare, Dover. She was 96. Mrs. Snavely was born June 18, 1911, in Johnstown, to the late George Crawford and Mabel Baumgardner Crawford. She graduated from Richland High School in 1929 and Cambria-Rowe Business College. Mrs. Snavely retired in 1977 after working as a bookkeeper, stenographer, secretary and many other office duties. She was a member Bethany United Methodist Church in Johnstown, for many years. Mrs. Snavely enjoyed rose gardening and spending time with her nieces, nephews, grandchildren and her grandnieces and grandnephews. Mrs. Snavely was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Snavely; her brother, Glen Crawford; and her sister, Dorothy Reed. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Gilmore, and her husband, Robert, Smyrna, Del.; her grandson, Bob Gilmore, and his wife, Susan, Dover; her great-grandchildren, Christopher and Thomas Gilmore. Funeral service will be held noon Saturday April 12, 2008, at Henderson Funeral Home, 2503 Bedford Street, Johnstown. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in the Richland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Westminster Village Healthcare, Attn: Activities Department, 1175 McKee Road, Dover, Del. 19904.
