Aged 76
Robert L. Abernathy, 421 Hancock avenue, died at 5:15 am today in Mercy hospital. Death came suddenly, although he had been ailing for a year.
He was born Oct. 10, 1869, and was unmarried. For many years before his retirement, Mr. Abernathy was a machinist on the Rock Island Arsenal. He is a member of the local, No. 388, machinists' union. Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Bash Petersen, and two nephews, all of Chicago.
The body is at Halligan's funeral home pending funeral arrangements.
