William J. Sprow, Former Teacher in Bell Twp., Is Dead

William J. Sprow, of Punxstawney R. D. 2, a retired farmer and former school teacher in Bell Township, died Sunday at the age of 81 years. Friends ware being received in the John F. Belin Funeral Home on West Mahoning Street, where services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Sprow, a lifelong resident of nearby Bell Township, had taught in several Bell Township schools before he retired from the teaching profession and devoted his time to farming. He was born in Bell Township July 5, 1875, a son of Peter ad Louisa Conrad Sprow, and was married April8, 1897, to Etta Williams. Mr. Sprow was a member of the Cloe Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife and these daughters and sons: Mrs. George Singleton, of Wharton, N. J.; Max E. Sprow, of Punxsutawney R. D. 2; Mrs. Mary Barnett and Edgar Sprow, of Sacramento, Calif., Jay Sprow, of Niagara Falls, N. Y.; Mrs. Sheldon Guest, of Dover, N. J., and Mrs. Frances Brown, of Olcott, N. Y. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
