Catherine was born in London and baptised at the parish of St. Peter Cornhill on May 27, 1569. She was the daughter of Gilbert and Ann Satchfield. She became the second wife of Thomas Horton in about 1598. His first wife had died, leaving him with five children. Thomas was a mercer in London. Thomas and Catherine had two children, including Sarah. Thomas died about 1620 in the parish of St. Martin in the Vintry. Catherine wrote her will on September 9, 1627 and was buried at the parish churchyard of St. Margaret Moses on September 13, 1627. In her will, she mentions daughter Sarah Conant and grandchildren Caleb and Sarah Conant, who were the first two children of Roger and Sarah Conant.
