She was married to James Emmett Beamguard April 2, 1895.

Mrs. James E. Beamguard 79, wife of a former state senator of York county, died early today at her home on Kings Mountain Street. She had been ill for the past year.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian church of Clover. The Rev. W.H. Bowman, pastor of the church, will officiate and burial will be in Woodside cemetery in Clover.

Mrs. Beamguard was born October 7, 1872 in Georgia, the daughter of the late Martha Norton Dorsett and Charles A. Dorsett. She had lived in Clover for the past 55 years and was on of the town's oldest citizens. She was a member of the Clover Presbyterian church and until her illness active in all phases of its work. She was also formerly a member of the United Daughters of Confederacy chapter and had served as its president.

She is survied by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Bleeker Beamguard Kennedy; two granddaughters, Miss Beverly Kennedy of Clover and Mrs. LeRoy Bartholomew of Detroit Michigan. two great granddaughters and a sister Mr. S.T. Pieree of Gastonia.
