Born in the Fidler's Green section of Coal Township to Polish immigrants Anthony and Anna (nee Racicz) Kowalewski; brother to Jacob, Sophie Glazik, Mary Novey, Frank, Harry, Stanley and Helen Moroskie; husband of Victoria (nee Wieczorek) and father to John E. Coveleskie and Edward Cove. Brothers Stanley and Harry were famous professional baseball players.
