Compiler Notes: Mary K. was an exceptional teenager growing up. She was very active as a Cheer Leader at Wilcox County High School. She was also a active member of the 4H Club in Wilcox County. In the "Passing of the Pines" it was stated she was a member of the Pope City Baptist Church. She attended Abraham Baldwin College at Tifton. She had to give it up after one quarter. She had leukemia. She was diagnosed Jan 1977 when a Junior in High School. She lived 2 years and 4 months after learning her illness. She rest beside her father John Robert Barentine at Pope City Baptist Church Cemetery, Wilcox County, Georgia
