Frank R. Oates, 75 died at 10:20pm, May 31, 2000 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton.

He was born Nov. 11, 1924, in Kenton to Frank and Edna Archer Oates. On Feb. 1, 1948, he married Phyllis A. Krock, who survives.

Mr. Oates had owned the Kenton Body Shop and had worked at the Ford dealership in Kenton. He as a founding member of the Faith Baptist Church, where he had been a deacon and treasurer and was a member of its Ambassador class. He was a member of the Marion Unit Wally Byam Caravan Club. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Paula (Mark) Kordic of Cedarville and Lorie (Randy) Casper of Kenton; a brother, James Oates of Kenton; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Robert Oates; and a sister, Louella Newfer.

Services will begin at 10:30am Monday at Schindewolf-Stevens-Stout Funeral Home, Kenton. The Rev. Dennis Burns will officiate. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Kenton, with military rites.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Baptist Church building fund or the West Central Ohio Kidney Foundation.
