RUTLAND TOWN - Stephen F. Pulling, 57, of Rutland Town died unexpectedly Saturday morning, August 31, 2013, upon arrival at the Rutland Regional Medical Center.

He was born on November 25, 1955, in Rutland, the son of Alfred and Roma (Gallup) Pulling.

Mr. Pulling graduated from the Rutland High School in 1973 and the University of New Hampshire in 1975.

He married Cathleen Doty on May 6, 2011.

Mr. Pulling had been employed by the F.W. Webb Co. for over 35 years.

He was a longtime member of the Mendon Fish and Game, Green Mountain Club, Adirondack Historical Society, Rutland Town Fire Department, where he had served as the training officer, and the Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge #96 of East Wallingford, where he had achieved the level of third degree.

Mr. Pulling was active in the Boy Scouts of America, Green Mountain Council, where he earned the Eagle Scout Award, Order of Arrow, and had been a former Scout leader.

He enjoyed raising beef cattle, beekeeping, hiking, camping, canoeing, skiing, history, and was an avid reader.

Survivors include his wife, Cathleen Pulling, his mother, Roma Pulling, a sister, Cynthia Roberts and her husband, Randy, all of Rutland Town; a stepdaughter, Jehann Gilman of Louisville, Ky.; and several cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Alfred Pulling, on June 18, 2007.

Memorial services will be held 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at the Aldous Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Cheney Hill Cemetery, where the Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge #96 will hold a fraternal service.

There will be no calling hours.
