Edmond Glen Stines, 93, of Ellettsville passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at IU Health-Bloomington Hospital.

He was born December 27, 1919 in Ellettsville Indiana and he resided in Ellettsville during his lifetime. Glen was a paratrooper in the US Army during World War II, a member of the 326th Glider Infantry and served his active duty in Central Europe. His decorations included the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon, Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory medal. Glen was a limestone plainer and worked at the Harding and Cogswell Stone Mill for 35 years. He successfully ran his own business and his work can be found in many public spaces around the world. The Balusters in the nation's capital building are Glen's work.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Loyce (Everman) Stines; his wife Betty Stines; his brother Earl Stines, and his sisters Louise Kompst and Ruth Miller.

Glen is survived by his sons, Ed (Rachel) Stines, Rick (Becky) Stines, and Joe Stines; daughters, Ann Foster and Laurel (Gail) Brinson; brother, Bart Stines of Nashville, Indiana; and grandchildren, Ben and Geoff Foster, Tony Brinson and Emily McDougal, Bob Stines and Jodee Duncan, Beverly Haggard and Sidney Stines. During Glen's lifetime he was graced with several additional children and grandchildren through the marriage and heart connection.

Funeral services will be held at the Ellettsville First Baptist Church on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Villanova and Pastor Gary Brinson officiating. Burial is to follow at Methodist Cemetery with the Monroe County Honor Guard performing honors. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
