Services for Myrtie Mae Coutee Fry will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 1, 2007, in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with Rev. Adam Travis officiating. Interment will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens, Alexandria under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

Myrtie Mae Coutee Fry, 87, of Elmer, died Monday, October 29, 2007, in CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.

Myrtie Fry was born on January 5, 1920 in Bayou Pierre, La., to Sifferan Coutee and Azalie Basco Coutee.

Mrs. Fry enjoyed gardening, square dancing and traveling. She was a member of the Rapides Parish Homemakers Club, Good Sam's Travel Club and Twin City Twirlers Club. Myrtie was a life long member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Elmer.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Max Fry; her parents; two sons, Sanford Roy Bennett and Albert Cornell Bennett; siblings, Franklin Coutee, Sevella Coutee, John Wilbur Coutee, Clinard Coutee, Willie Leroy Coutee, William Burnham Coutee, Alfred Barney Coutee, Dorothy Jean Coutee and Ollie Mae Coutee.

Myrtie Fry leaves to treasure her memory, one daughter Theresa Bennett DeBona of Alexandria; two sons, Floyd Bennett of Elmer and Elvis Bennett and his wife, Lois of Alexandria; three granddaughters, Lisa DeBona Hardy, Kimberly Johnston and Lori Haynes; two grandsons, Curtis Bennett and Travis Bennett; seven great-grandchildren.

Friends are asked to call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at John Kramer & Son.

A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held a 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Dan O'Connor officiating.

Pallbearers will be Chris Haynes, Rocky Johnston, Travis Bennett, Curtis Bennett and George Hardy.
