From the Nevada State Journal, Sunday, January 25, 1959, page 3:

BIJOU RESIDENT KILLED IN CRASH

Placerville, California, January 24 - A 20-year-old Bijou, California man has been killed in the crash of his speeding car on US 50, 15 miles east of Placerville in the Sierras.

The Highway Patrol identified the man as Dolan Ollis Homer. Police officers say Homer passed another car on a curve last night and smashed head-on into the side of a mountain.
