Lena Marie Tate,67 died at Western Plains Regional Hospital,Dodge City,Ks on Nov.19,1998.

She was born Dec.15,1930 at Abilene,Tx, the daughter of Pete Sr.and Ruby Meyer Barbian. She was a graduate of St.Joseph Acaademy School. A Dodge City resident since 1963, she and her husband,Kenneth L. Tate whom she married on July 16,1948 at Abilene,Tx owned and operated the Dodge City Dairy Queen.

She was a past matron of White Cross Chapter No.219 of Larned,KS and St.Bernard Chapter No.7,was president of the Dodge City Assembly No.12 and Social Order of the Beauceant and was a member of the Mizpah Shrine No.9, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, all of Dodge City,KS. She was past president of the Grand Representatives Association and the District Aides Association, was current president of the Alpha Omega Club and was active in the Jobs Daughters, serving as a Bethel Guardian for several years.

Other survivors include daughter, Kathryn Swinnery of Dodge City; brother,Jmeyer Barbian of Abilene,Tx and a grandson.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth L. Tate,Jr and a brother,Pete Barbian,Jr.
