Jean Guess, 85, of Weatherford, went home to her Lord on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, at Couts Memorial United Methodist Church, 802 N. Elm St., Weatherford. Interment will be in Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Monday, Sepbemter 2, at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford.

Born to the late John Mack and Mary Katherine Tanner Bell, Jean grew up and attended school in Rochester, Texas. In 1946, she married Curtis Andrew Guess, and together they enjoyed making their home in Millsap. Jean always had a smile and either fresh baked cinnamon rolls or a pecan pie. Much of her time was spent watching her beloved Texas Rangers.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Curtis Andrew Guess; a brother, John Shelby Bell; and sisters, Cora David, Lena Corley, Lula Mae Capers, and Margaret Fore.

Survivors include daughter, Vickie Durant and her husband, Jerry, of Weatherford; grandson, Brian Durant, of Weatherford; granddaughter, Diane Durant, of Fort Worth; great-granddaughters, Kindel Elise and Andie Elizabeth; brother, Frank Bell; brother-in-law, Frank Snow; sisters-in-law, Wanda Snow, Helen Guess, and Dorothy Guess; numerous nieces and nephews; and The 42 Bunch.
