Linda Kathryn Ball Brocato, sixty-four years of age, passed away on August 30, 2013.

She was born to Nettie Lumpkin and Robert Leo Ball. They moved to Alexandria where she attended and graduated from Bolton High School.

On March 20, 1968, Linda married Joseph Brocato Jr. and they moved to Baton Rouge. While living in Baton Rouge, her focus was on being a wonderful mother and supportive wife, while balancing her time between her job as a Legal Secretary and Medical Transcriptionist. During her time in Baton Rouge, she enjoyed painting as a hobby and wrote and illustrated a children's book.

Linda and her husband moved back to Alexandria after four years in Baton Rouge. In Alexandria, she continued working as a Legal Secretary for Ward Jones for a few years before accepting the roll of Executive Director of The March of Dimes. During her time at The March of Dimes, she organized fund raisers and directed the distribution of benefits.

Linda eventually left The March of Dimes to pursue a career in Real Estate, which would provide more flexible hours to spend time raising her three children. She loved to spend the summers taking the kids to swim at the Alexandria Golf and Country Club, fishing with the family at Toledo Bend, and riding horses.

When her children grew up, she turned the page to the next chapter of her life. She founded Crossroads Riding Center where, as the Executive Director, she dedicated her time to rehabilitating children and adults through equine therapy. By sharing her love of horses, she enhanced the lives of countless others.

She will be remembered for her extraordinary culinary skills, her love of animals, and her dedication to helping others overcome hurdles through Crossroads Riding Center.

She is survived by her husband Joseph Brocato Jr; a son Joseph Brocato III (wife Staci); two daughters, Christen Bernard (husband David) and Elizabeth Meadows (husband Ric); her brother, Randy Ball (wife Becky); six grandchildren and one step-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Ball Jr.
