Abernathy died Saturday, June 4, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. She was born born Sept. 4, 1914, in Oklahoma. She worked as a cafeteria cook at De Baca General Hospital for 24 years until her retirement on April 19, 1989. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Hall, Clovis; one brother, Johnny Rogerson, Russellville, Ark.; one sister, Helen Patterson, Levelland, Texas; and one granddaughter.
Casket bearers will be Joe Alires, Willie Griego, Naby Hindi, Jack McCaroll, Tike Terpening and Mickey Lovato.
Honorary bearers will be Clyde Sigafus, Everet Munch, Pete Terpening, and all her many friends.
Visitation will be held until 7 p.m. tonight and Wednesay from 10 a.m. until service time.
