GREAT FALLS—Clarence "Bill" Williams, 85, passed away, August 25, 2013 at Benefis Healthcare.

Bill was born in Waynesboro, Mississippi on April 23, 1928. He left the farm to join the United States Air Force, serving with WWII Occupation Forces in Japan and then in the Berlin Airlift. While stationed at Memphis, Tennessee, he met the love of his life, Courtney Eldridge, and they ran off to Mississippi to get married. After Memphis he spent the next several decades serving in the Korean War, flying in Europe and North Africa during the Cold War, and was in Vietnam. Bill then served in civil service at Malmstrom AFB in civil engineering.

Bill was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing, traveling around Montana to chase antelope, deer, elk and pheasant. He was able to recall hunts and fishing expeditions and loved sharing the stories of success. He was a member of the Hasaan Grotto. Bill was a dedicated member of the First Southern Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school for over five years.

Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years; a son; two daughters; a brother; 9 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Capell and Susan Williams; two sisters; and three brothers.
