Lucille Abbey, 78, of Stringer, died Thursday, August 29, 2013, at South Central Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Good Hope Cemetery in Jasper County. Rev. Terry Lee will officiate.
Mrs. Abbey was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. She enjoyed her flowers and fishing and her two dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John F. and Calone Spradley Wood; five brothers, Olivar J. Wood, J. C. Wood, J. W. Wood, William "Bill" Wood and Roscoe Wood; one granddaughter, Misty Ann Yawn; and on great granddaughter, Ella Grace Jenkins.
Survivors include her husband, Freeman Abbey; two sons, Justin (Carmen) Yawn of Stringer and Jimmy (Patty) Yawn all of Stringer; one daughter, Judy (Ferlen) Williams of Stringer; seven grandchildren, Lance Yawn, Rodney (Devona) Jenkins, Chris (Shannon) Williams, Dawn Kitchens, Jim Yawn, Ryan Yawn and Cayla Yawn; six great grandchildren, Alle Jenkins, Jackson Jenkins, Katelyn Williams, Wyatt Williams, Autumn Kitchens and Makayla Kitchens; two brothers, Johnny (Merle) Wood and Talmadge (Margaret) Wood; and one sister, Dell Marie (Billy Ray) Williams.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2013, at Memory Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
