Mikeal Lee ‘Mike' Blackford, son of Richard G. Blackford and Opal Maxine (Fisher) Blackford was born April 12, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa and passed from this life Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at his home near Murray, Iowa at 62 years of age.
Mike lived most of his life in Des Moines. He served in the National Guard. He married Cynthia J. Rotschafer on December 2, 1972 in Des Moines and two sons blessed this union, Mikeal and Richard.
Mike worked many years for Inland Truck Parts. He and Cindy moved to their farm north of Murray 14 years ago. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, gardening, and tinkering with his old tractors. He loved sharing these hobbies with his sons and later, his granddaughters. He loved being on the farm.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
