He was born in Rockcastle County to the late Albert Henry and Sara Smith Isaacs. He was a self-employed farmer and had a passion for it. He was a member and a deacon at Valley Baptist Church. He was also a formerly a Mason.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Annie Powell Isaacs, one son Ralph Isaacs and his wife Jean, three brothers, Oscar, Steve and Wade, three sisters Dorothy, Delphia and Stella, two grandsons and two great grandsons.
He is survived by his 11 children Raymond (Phyllis) Isaacs, Luther (Nancy) Isaacs, Leroy (Becky) Isaacs, Herbert (Dora) Isaacs, Mary (Jerry) Watkins, Sarah Neeley, Barbara (Bill) Turner, Hobert (Rebecca) Isaacs, Janet Vaughn, Joyce (Mike) Thompson and James Isaacs. Three sisters Martha Hurley, Jean Madden and Helen Hisle, 34 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren also survive him.
Funeral services will be 11 am Monday September 2, 2013 at Valley Baptist Church with Bro. Greg Lakes, Bro. Tony Shelton and Bro. Bobby Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Isaacs Cemetery in Rockcastle County. Visitation will be Sunday evening after 4 pm at Valley Baptist Church.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
