Elijah Flint was the son of Lorin Flint.
He was a 38 year-old Farmer from Otis, MA when he enlisted on July 14, 1862 and was mustered into service with the 37th Mass. Infantry on August 30, 1862. As part of the Campaign Against Richmond, the 37th, then part of the 4th Brigade, 2nd Division, 6th Corps, broke camp at Brandy Station, VA on the morning of May 4, 1864, and started for the Wilderness. On May 6th the 37th was heavily engaged on the right of the Plank Road, losing 34 killed in action, and over 100 woounded, about 20 of these mortally. Elijah Flint was wounded at the Wilderness during action on May 6, 1864 and was sent to a hospital in Baltimore, where he succumbed to his wounds on July 6, 1864. He was interred at Loudon Park National Cemetery, Baltimore, Section A, Grave 113.
