He was the son of John McBride Allison and Sarah C. Rodman

He was born in Stronghurst, Henderson Co Ill in 1858 and came to Muscotah in 1876 and rented the Edward Olden farm. He married Irene Estell Alexander Feb 16, 1881 they went to south of Mayetta, KS and broke prairie ground and built a house there. He ran the Muscotah Hardware store and closed it in 1915 and moved it to Horton where he also sold furniture . They had three daughters Mrs Luther Cortelyou, Mrs Minnie Hail and Mrs Janice McLendon of Elwood, NE.
