He evidently had no military record. “The Clinton Eye,” 6 Apr 1928, Clinton Missouri, p. 1: "Ira Rogers and Miss Beulah Shepherd were married Thursday of last week at the court house, by Judge H. H. Page. They are living at the present with the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Shepherd, on North Water street, but will go to house keeping later. The bride has been employed at the Cozart Hotel and has many friends. Mr. Rogers is the obliging meat cutter at the Callaway Meat Market." He also worked for a time at a Safeway meat department. “The Clinton Eye” (Clinton, MO), 1933-12-07, Main Edition, p. 1: “Mr. Rogers is employed at Kemper's Meat Market.” He had a son Donald in 1930. “Mrs. Ira Rogers” moved to Lexington with the son about 1935. - per The Clinton Eye (Clinton, MO), 1936-06-18, p.10. They got back together for a time, per the 1940 Census.
He married Mary May Stotts on 24 June 1955.
His obituary said he had sought admission to a mental hospital a week before his death, but permission apparently came to the judge too late.
Law enforcement found his body under a bridge. His death certificate states he died of a gun shot wound.
