Mary Louise, 81, of Lake City, MI, passed away August 26, 2013. She was the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Hughes) Hollingsworth.

Mary Lou worked for the Lansing School Board and the State of Michigan (MDOT) and retired from the Crime Division, Attorney General. She resided in Lansing until her retirement when she and Jack relocated to Lake City, MI.

She is survived by her husband, Jack A. Ver Planck of Lake City; sons, Ronald (Roxane) Ver Planck of Kalamazoo, Mark (Pam) Ver Planck of Grand Ledge; grandchildren, Jason (Mary Clayton) Ver Planck of Ashburn, VA, Tami (Mark) Keifer of Lansing, Neil (Liisa) Ver Planck of East Lansing, Kim Ver Planck of Lansing; and great-grand children, Emily, Alexander, Jackson and Jeremiah.

A graveside inurnment of ashes took place on Friday, September 6, 2013.

Donations may be made in honor of Mary Lou to Mercy Hospice, Cadillac, MI.

Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Mary Lou's motto in life was to Live, Love and Laugh.
