Jefferson BEE - Tuesday, February 3rd, 1942 - Emma Arch Gouger, 79, died Jan 29, 1942 at her home in Eagle Grove. Funeral services were Saturday Jan e3q. Burial in St Josephs cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl Perkins, Ed White, John Coyne, M.W Shearman, M.D. Elvin, and A.G. Shearman

Mrs. Gouger, the wife of the late John Gouger, was the daughter of the late John and Catherine Arch and was born Aug 31, 1862, at Henry, IL. She came to Iowa from Illinois from Illinois at the age of 14 and was married here to John Gouger. They resided on their farm southwest of Jefferson, where they reared their family of three sons. One year was spent at Chariton and 13 years ago they moved to Eagle Grove to live.

Mr. Gouger passed away in 1933 and a son, Ed, died in 1918.

Mrs. Gouger is survived by two sons, Wylie of Des Moines and Ray of Scranton; a brother, Ed Arch of Scranton; five grandchildren: Mrs. Helen Young of Wichita Falls, Texas, Keith S. of Los Angeles, Cal., John S. of Jefferson, Margaret of Eagle Grove and Mary Em of Des Moines, and two great grandchildren, the children of Keith S. Gouger in Los Angeles.
