George Ludwig Ackman died at his home near Jansen, Neb., Thursday, Jan. 3, 1963, at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 22 days. He had not been in good health for the past five years.
The son of Ferdinand and Caroline Sandman Ackman, he was born Oct. 11, 1887 north of Jansen, Neb. He was baptized on Dec. 25, 1887 in the Evangelical Lutheran church. He was reared in the Jansen vicinity and chose the occupation of a farmer. In 1943 he left the farm and moved to an acreage east of Jansen.
On June 5, 1912 he was married to Ida Helliger at Plymouth by the late Pastor Fred Abele. The couple had one son.
Surviving are his wife, Ida, son, Arthur of Jansen; grandchild, Mrs. Ila Ingle of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, Theodore of Jansen and Alfred of Alhambra, Calif., and sister, Carrie Ackman of Lincoln.
Funeral services were Monday afternoon at the Trinity Lutheran church at Jansen with the Rev. M. Matuschka officiating. Pallbearers were nephews. Burial in the Fairbury cemetery.
