VIOLETTA M. (HUMPHREY) BESWICK, 61, of Morrison, died Tuesday morning at University Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Renkes-Reynolds Funeral home with the Rev. Alvin Hook officiating. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Cancer Fund.

Violetta M. Humphrey was born Oct. 29, 1918 in Mount Pleasant Township, the daughter of Raymond and Ethel (Mathew) Humphrey. She was reared and educated in the Morrison area, a graduate of Morrison High School and attended Normal College. She was united in marriage to DeWitt Beswick on Sept. 3, 1938 in Sterling. The couple farmed in Clyde Township for 42 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the M&M Homemakers Club.

Mrs. Beswick is survived by her husband, DeWitt; two sons, Kenneth of Erie and Donald of Morrison; two daughters, Mrs. Peter (Karen) Howe of Barrington and Jane Hinrichs of Macomb; one sister, Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Allen of Normal; her mother, Mrs. Ethel Humphrey of Morrison and four grandchildren.
