ARLENE L. LaMERE CROWN POINT, IN Arlene L. LaMere, age 82, of Crown Point, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. Arlene is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard; 11 children: Rick (Dawn) of Anamosa, IA, Arch (Debbie) of Battle Creek, MI, Dave (Donna) of Crown Point, Phil (Diana) of Indianapolis, Tim (Dana) of Crown Point, Mark (Kathleen) of Crown Point, Mardee Saad (Thomas) of Crown Point, Aimee Adams (Tom) of Crown Point, Carrie Carpenter of Crown Point, Dan of Crown Point, and Bob (Barbara) of Madison, AL; 31 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by infant daughter, Mary Margaret; parents: Arthur and Laura Toerpe; twin brother, Arthur Toerpe; and two sisters: Shirley Toerpe and Donna Malinak. Arlene was born in Chicago on February 26, 1929, and lived her entire adult life in Crown Point. She was a member of St. Mary's Church of Crown Point. Arlene enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was a master swimmer and former Hermit's Lake Swim Coach. She adored animals - especially her horses, dogs and cats. Arlene was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Her greatest treasure in life was her devotion to her faith and family. Funeral prayers will be said on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 9:00 AM at Geisen Funeral -Cremation & Reception Centre (NOTE: NEW LOCATION) at 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN) followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 321 E. Joliet St., Crown Point with Fr. Pat Kalich officiating. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Crown Point. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, April 15, 2011 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre.
