ELIZABETHTON - Bessie Royston Fair, 89, 800 S. Second St., died early Sunday morning in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home; following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Fair was a native of Sullivan County, but had lived in Elizabethton since 1919. She was the daughter of the late John and Callie Richardson Royston. She was preceded in death by her husband David Fair in 1938. Mrs. Fair was a member of Chinquapin Baptist Church and the extension class of the Oak Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Jesse Fair, Elizabethton; one daughter, Opal Manning, Elizabethton; two brothers, Roy and Ollie Royston, both of Bluff City; one step brother, James Richards, Bluff City. Tetrick, Riverside Chapel, is in charge.
