Mrs. Veda V. Parrish, 95, of La Harpe, died Saturday, June 10, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born June 7, 1900, near Rutledge, Mo., the daughter of Plenty and Amy Hustead Arehart. She married Harry Parrish July 1, 1920, in Edina, Mo. He died June 29, 1960.
She is survived by one daughter, Zenith Thompson of La Harpe; one sister, Ula Kassahn of Kirksville, Mo.; five grandchildren, Melvin Lee Haddix of Colchester, Larry Haddix of Kansas City, Mo., Robert Parrish of Marion, Iowa, and Mary Lou Mathew and Teresa Blythe, both of La Harpe and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Ercell Parrish; one grandson, Eddie Parrish, one great-grandson, Micah Mathew, one great-granddaughter, Ambre Parrish, four brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. Parrish worked for the Ralph Todd family for 28 years. She was a member of La Harpe United Methodist Church.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 12, at the La Harpe Cemetery with Rev. Jon Sims officiating.
A memorial has been established for La Harpe Davier Health Care Center.
