Mrs. Anna Mabel Whittaker of Hartslog Valley, Huntingdon R.D. 1, wife of Wilbur Whittaker, died at her home this Thursday morning, July 24, 1947, at 10 o'clock. Death was caused by coronary thrombosis.
She had been in ill health for 10 years though she was still able to be up and about her home.
Born in Mooresville on Jan 9 1879. she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Neff) Oburn. She married Wilbur H. Whittaker on Oct 30, 1901.
Her husband and two daughters, Miss Frances Caroline Whittaker, at home, and Mrs. Alice Lorraine Bell of Tyrone R. D., are surviving. A sister, Mrs. Ada Borst, is also surviving. A son Alton Oburn Whittaker, died at the age of 18 months.
Mrs. Whittaker was a member of the Alexandria Presbyterian Church since 1901. She also belonged to the Hartslog Valley Missionary Society, of which she was president for 14 years, the Hartslog Valley Grange and the Ladies of the G. A. R.
The funeral service will be held at the late home on Sunday at ?:30 p.m. The Rev. Harry Geisinger assisted by the Rev. Mr. ?nt will officiate. Interment will be in Alexandria Cemetery. Friends will be received at the late home after 1:30 p.m. Friday. Brown funeral service.
