Loretta was born in Oklahoma City, OK. After being cancer free for 12 years, she lost her three-year battle for life to metastatic renal cell carcinoma. She passed away peacefully in Tucson, AZ. After graduation from Mount Saint Mary High School in 1964, Loretta attended Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City, General School of Nursing, graduating in 1967. In 1972, she joined the USAF, completing one tour, 1972-1976, at Mountain Home AFB, ID. Loretta became an OB-GYN Practitioner after completing the OB-GYN Practitioner School, University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS, in 1975. She loved to travel, visiting many locations in Europe and the United States. She enjoyed life, especially being with her family while attending/hosting family reunions. She was a member of SALSA; Frayed Knots; and Stampscapes II stamping clubs, where she enjoyed creating stamp art with friends worldwide. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Angelina Gerik; and sister, Barbara Rubes; and is survived by her husband of 36 years, Damian; son, Michael Shane Davis; granddaughters, Kendall and Aubrey Davis; sister, Rebecca Rubes; and numerous nephews and nieces. Loretta was very active in her parish, St. Francis de Sales in Tucson, AZ, serving as a Lecture Commentator and Eucharistic Minister. There will be a Funeral Mass for Loretta at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sulphur, OK on August 24 at 10 a.m. She will be interred at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City, OK, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Loretta's family is asking for a donation to be sent to the Kidney Cancer Association. She was truly blessed to be loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.
