A longtime member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, Faye worked in the nursery and taught Sunday school. She was passionate about serving others and she loved her church, flowers, family and friends, but most of all her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. She retired after working 28 years at Liggett Myers.
Faye is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Alton Bradshaw Bishop; her daughters, Donna Christian and husband, Buddy, Susan Boyd and husband, Harold, all of Durham; her sister, Grace Goodings of Four Oaks; her brother, Roger Jones and wife, Peggy, of Lynchburg, VA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mark Christian and wife, Shanna, Matt Boyd and wife, Susi, Emily Turner and husband, Michael; her great grandchildren, Christopher Boyd, Samantha Boyd, Carson Turner, Finn Christian and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 27 at New Hope Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Kerri Hefner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
