Charlotte J. Stanley (nee Hasty), 88, of Elgin, IL, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Amita St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, IL. She was born at home in Bagley, IA on October 26, 1933, to Claude and Lucille (Griffin) Hasty. She graduated in 1951 from Yale/Jamaica/Bagley "YJB" High School in Jamaica, IA. Charlotte was united in marriage to Johnie F. Stanley on September 16, 1951 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, IA. She was very active in schools' PTA, sold Avon, work doing bookkeeper, volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital and a Travel Escort for Bus trips. She enjoyed traveling the world with friends. Left to cherish Charlotte's memories are daughters, Debra (Paul) Garland and Terri Stanley; daughter-in-law, Maryrose Stanley; grandchildren, Christy (Kris) Bodouski, Sebastian Garland, Eric Stanley, Morgan Garland, Victoria (Paul) Novorolsky; great-grandchildren, Paige Kruse, Tate Bodouski, Quinn Bodouski; great-great-grandchildren, Paitin Kruse, Haldyn Kruse; her sister, Judy (George) Knapp, her sister-in-law, Esther Clouse; many nieces and nephews; and her precious cat, Dutchess. In death she rejoins her husband, Johnie; parents, Claude and Lucille; son, John T. Stanley; sisters, Dolores McNeill, Sandra Hamlin and Phyllis Crisp; brother, Orville Deardorff; and grandson, Darren Stanley. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Visitation will be Friday, from 10:00 AM until time of services in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Windridge Memorial Park and Sanctuary in Cary, IL.
