Born April 11, 1942, in Fermanagh Township [Juniata County, PA], he was a son of Marion (Emerick) Benner of Locust Grove Village, Mifflin HCR-67 and the late Paul C. Benner. His wife, Carol A (Psynik) Benner, survives.
Also surviving are: two sons, John R. Benner Jr. and Jason P. Benner, both at home: brother and sister, Polly Anderson, East Charleston, Vt., Joe E. Benner, Mifflintown RD 3.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Paul C. Benner, II, in 1959.
He was employed at H. L. Miller Group, Schykill Haven as an assistant controller.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Mifflintown, past master of Schuylkill Haven Page Lodge 270 F. and A.m., past district deputy grand master of District 11, a member of Reading Consistory Valley of Reading, Schuylkill County Shrine Club, Landingville Hunting and Conservation Club, Buck Eye Hunting Club, Morris, past treasurer of the Orwigsburg Little League and the Orwigsburg Area Athletic Association.
Service were held at the convenience of the family with the Reverend Douglas Kelley officiating. Interment was in the Bunkertown Cemetery.
