BUSINESSMAN DIES AT AGE 64
Jesse Edward Boles, 64, president of Goad-Boles Motors Inc., died unexpectedly early Thursday morning in a Brownsville hospital.
Boles, who resided at 1701 E. Warren St., had lived in Victoria for 27 years, coming here from Wharton. He was born Sept. 24, 1911, in Hulen, Okla., to the late William Benton and Pernie Ethel Hutchinson Boles.
He was active in Shrine activities, being a member of the Victoria Shrine Club, the Al Amin Temple in Corpus Christi and the Valley of Houston-Houston Consistory.
Boles was a member of First Christian Church, was a past director in the Texas Automobile Dealers Association, a member of the National Automobile Dealers Association, the Victoria Golf Association and the Victoria Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of Wharton Masonic Lodge 621.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel.
Masonic graveside services will be held at Memory Gardens with Victoria Masonic Lodge 40 AF&AM conducting the services.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marjorie Onetha Boles, and a son, Glenn W. Boles, both of Victoria; a sister, Mrs. Roy Woods; and a brother, William Benton Boles Jr., both of Weslaco; and a grandson, Ian Hunter Boles of Victoria.

Funeral services for Jesse Edward Boles, 64, of 1701 E. Warren St., president of Goad-Boles Motors, Inc., who died Thursday morning in a Brownsville hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Colonial Funeral Home.
The Rev. Bob Coleman and the Rev. L. Wallace Brown will officiate.
Masonic graveside services will be conducted at Memory Gardens under the auspices of Victoria Masonic Lodge 40 AF&AM.
Pallbearers will be W. W. Watkins, W. A. Mackey, Bill Thames, Bill Johnston, John Larson and Homer McDonald.
Named as honorary pallbearers are Byron Goad, John Dorris, W. E. Schneider, Roger Lampman, Fred Rosler, W. R. McCright, Morris Lazor, Dr. Don Wendt, Dr. Oscar Zuniga, Earl Newman, O. A. Frazier, Bob Arbuthnot, Chester Lyssy, Cliff Griffith and all Goad-Boles employees.
