Winston Scott Dennis born July 10, 1930 in Denton to L.S. Dennis and Essie Howard.

Winston "Skeeter" Dennis was born July 10, 1930 in Denton, Texas to Scott and Essie Agnes Howard Dennis. He passed from this life Thursday, August 22, 2013 at his home in Aledo, Texas at the age of 83. He grew up in Grady, Waurika, and Ringling and graduated from Ringling High School.

He and Sue Carol Seay were married November 20, 1950 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He was a lifetime rancher with Dennis Ranch in Oscar, Oklahoma and in Aledo, Texas. He was a lifetime member of the Oklahoma Cattleman's Association, the American Hereford Association, the American Quarter Horse Association and the National Cutting Horse Association. He and Bob and Billy Jack Wills co-wrote "Faded Love". He was a member of the Ryan United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years - Sue Dennis, children - LaDonna Carol Dennis Davis and husband Jerry Dan, Cynthia Sue "Cindy" Phillips, and David Scott Dennis, brother - Don Dennis, grandchildren - Zachary Smith and wife Sommer, Tyler, Binion and Dakota Dennis, and Courtney Savage and husband Lyndle, 4 great grandchildren - Skyler, Bayler, Braxton, and Brooklyn. He is also survived by several cousins. He is also survived by his wonderful caregivers Barbara, Judy, Rae Lynn, Brandi, Sedrick and Lana.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Stephen Douglas "Steve" on March 15, 2001.

Funeral service for Mr. Dennis will be Monday, August 26, 2013 at 10:00AM at the United Methodist Church in Ryan with Rev. Bryan Spivey officiating. Burial will be in the Oscar Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-8 PM at Dudley funeral home in Ryan. Memorials may be made to United Methodist Church of Ryan.
