DOTSON Richard A. Dotson, 82, devoted husband, father and grandfather passed on September 16, 2012. He was born to the parents of Robert and Beulah Dotson on August 19, 1930 in Joplin, MO. Richard was a proud Union Sheet Metal worker with Local 49 of Albuquerque, NM and had just received his 60 year pin. Richard was a member of El Paso Lodge 130 and an affiliated member of Fraternity Lodge 1111, a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and El Maida Shrine.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Kathleen (Taylor) Dotson; daughter Marda Baysden and fiancee Jeff Brown; daughter, Vickie Messex and son-in-law Dennis Messex, Sr.; sister Carolyn and husband Calsidonia Joseph Fiorella; grandchildren: Dennis (Michelle) Messex II; Misty (John) Nagy, Deane (Stacy) Messex, Paul Adkins-Nobles, Dustin (Lori) Messex, Michael Baysden, and Kimberly (Sammy) Costello; great-grandchildren: Courtney Adkins, Destiny Messex, Kirsten Messex, John Nagy, Brendon Nagy, Wyatt Messex, Kaylia Costello, Audrey Messex, Kaitlynn Costello, Cora Lynn Baysden, Tyler Baysden, Madalynn Messex, Matthew Nagy, Hunter Messex and Alana Messex.
Brother to the late Betty Burris of Mo, Ronald Dotson of El Paso, Sue Williams, Sharon Hagerman both of Calif. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm, Thursday September 20, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Services will begin at 1pm, Friday September 21, 2012 at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Burial in Granger,Tx Sept 24,2012.
Disinterment from Holy Cross Cemetery in Granger Tx June 17,2013 to Restlawn Cemetery in El Paso Tx by daughter Vickie Messex and son in law Dennis Messex per Kathleen Dotson's request.
