Claude Henry Aldridge, 73, of Carrollton, died Aug. 1, 1992.
He was a lifelong resident of Carroll County, and was the son of the late William Jefferson "Jeff" Aldridge and Dura Nix Aldridge. For a number of years, he owned and operated Carrollton Hardware Company. Mr. Aldridge was a member of First Christian Church. He was a Mason, a member of the Carrollton Masonic Lodge #69 F&AM and a member of the Carrollton Kiwanis Club. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Brooks; sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Cottrill, Cincinnati, Ohio; Mrs. Mary A. Harris, Aransas Pass, Texas; Mrs. Ruth A. Jackson, Temple; and Mrs. Dura A. Dyer, College Park; brothers, Frank W. Aldridge, Cedartown, and James N. Aldridge, Newnan; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. June W. Aldridge, Carrollton.
Services were conducted Monday, August 3, at 2 p.m., at the First Christian Church with Dr. James W. Dyer and Minister Robert Shell officiating. Organ music was by Mrs. Snead Johnson. Pallbearers were Maurice Ingle, Snead Johnson, Ray York, William H. Lambert, Bobby Holmes, and Micky Newsome. Internment was in Carrollton City Cemetery. The flag was folded and presented to family by members of the American Legion Post #143.
Those desires to do so, may make a contribution to the Benevolence Fund at the First Christian Chruch.
