Norma L. Scherff, 91, of Davenport, Iowa, died peacefully Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at her home with her daughter and grandson by her side. She was under the attentive care of Hospice Compassus. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Monday, August 26th at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport, where her family will greet friends from 12 noon until time of service. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Norma was born in 1922 to Martin and Ingabog Colbert in Hutchison, Kansas. She was a graduate of Davenport High School. She married her high school sweetheart Leonard C. Scherff on July 5, 1945 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was a member until her death. She worked as a legal secretary for 33 years in Davenport. Norma was a member of the national and local Danish Sisterhood, Putnam Museum Guild and NARFE. She enjoyed growing raspberries and roses, collecting teapots and other antiques, listening to gospel music and playing slot machines.

She is survived by her daughter Carole Sellers, grandson Kelly Sellers, sister Jean Clay, and many nieces and nephews. Her husband Leonard preceded her in death five years to the day of her passing. She was also preceded by her parents, three sisters and two brothers.
