Norma was born in 1922 to Martin and Ingabog Colbert in Hutchison, Kansas. She was a graduate of Davenport High School. She married her high school sweetheart Leonard C. Scherff on July 5, 1945 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was a member until her death. She worked as a legal secretary for 33 years in Davenport. Norma was a member of the national and local Danish Sisterhood, Putnam Museum Guild and NARFE. She enjoyed growing raspberries and roses, collecting teapots and other antiques, listening to gospel music and playing slot machines.
She is survived by her daughter Carole Sellers, grandson Kelly Sellers, sister Jean Clay, and many nieces and nephews. Her husband Leonard preceded her in death five years to the day of her passing. She was also preceded by her parents, three sisters and two brothers.
