Mr. Joel A. Draper, one of the fine farmers in the Delta section, died on Wednesday evening at his home near that town of paralysis. He was 77 years of age, and was a native of North Carolina, but moved here 19 years ago.

Mr. Draper was an active member of Slateville Presbyterian Church and Esdraelon Lodge A. F. and A. M.

Besides his widow, Mrs. Lucy J. Draper, the deceased is survived by four daughters, Mrs. J. W. Shuler, Whiteford; Mrs. E. P. Emerson, Maryland; Mrs. F. H. Stone, York, Pa.; Mrs. B. M. Rhudy, ....... and five sons, H. T., Detroit; R. J., Delta; A. N., Whiteford; ...... and J. P. Draper, of ........ (some portions of the obit were very difficult to read).

The funeral will be held from his late home on Sat. at 1:30 p.m. with services at Slateville Church at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. B. W. Jones. Esdraelon Lodge will conduct graveside services.
