ST. JOSEPH (Special) — Funeral services for John A. Morgan, 58, a retired planter and cattleman from St. Joseph, were at 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Crothers Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Revs. Jack Jones and Jerry Polk officiating.

Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah.

Mr. Morgan died Sunday night in the Veterans Hospital in Alexandria after a long illness. A native of Bowling Green, Ky., he had resided in Tensas Parish for the past 34 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 309 in Tallulah.

Survivors include two brothers, Pat Morgan and Eugene Morgan, both of St. Joseph; three sisters, Miss Mabel Morgan, St. Joseph, Mrs. Fred Baker, Tallulah; and Mrs. J. H. Hinton, Laurel, Miss.

Pallbearers were V. C. Rives, J. P. Coor, J. P. Jones, J. H. Ohisen, Glen McIntosh and John Hawkes.
