Virginia M. Wiegers, age 91 of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, passed away August 16, 2013 at her residence. Virginia was born on August 12, 1922 in Mackinac Island, Michigan to Clarence and Helen (Holden) LaChance.

She married William A. Wiegers on October 9, 1946 in Marinette, Wisconsin. He died in December 1983. She attended Marquette University in Michigan and later was employed at Ray's Shoe Store and Orpha's, both in Mauston. She retired in 1983. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Virginia enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting and many other crafts.

Virginia is survived by two children: Susan (Clarence) Droste of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Kenneth (Sheryl) Wiegers of Sarasota, FL;
seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren
and a former daughter-in-law Julie Wiegers of Kaukauna, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parent; husband William; a son Stephen Wiegers, one sister and three brothers.

Funeral services held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI with burial at Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette, Wisconsin.
