SHELBY — Mr. Willard “Bill” Baker, Jr., 71, of 100-01 Kenwall Village Drive, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
He was born in Morganton, a son of the late Willard Bulo and Lola Wilson Baker Sr.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Baker.
He was retired from Clayton Mobile Homes in Gastonia, was a member of the First Assembly of God in Shelby, a Mason and a Shriner. He served in the Army.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marianne Baker of Shelby; a son, Billy Baker III of Gastonia; three daughters, Vickie B. Carpenter and husband, Kenneth, of Shelby, Pam Baker of Grover and Bonnie B. Lawrenz and husband, Dave, of Mount Holly; a sister, Betty Pelley of Florida; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First Assembly of God in Shelby with the Revs. James D. Kelly and Jack Fox officiating.
Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park in Morganton.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Harris Funeral Home in Kings Mountain.
